About
IBT.

Unlocking the next generation of underground mining technologies.

IBT survey vehicle in an underground drive

An engineer-founded underground
mining technology company.

Founded in Perth in 2015, IBT began in underground production hole surveying, providing mines with a clearer understanding of drilling accuracy and where errors were occurring.

Years of surveying production holes and working directly with drill crews, engineers and survey teams exposed opportunities to improve more than just the survey itself. This led IBT to develop its own technology for drill alignment, downhole surveying and the management and analysis of production drilling data.

Today, IBT continues to provide production hole surveying services while developing and testing its own hardware and software. Our products are built around problems we encounter underground, trialled in real mining environments and continually improved using feedback and survey data from the field.

Forged underground.
Refined through real operations.

We don’t just develop technology for underground mining, we use it every day.

Our crews operate across Western Australian mine sites, surveying production holes and working directly with the equipment, software and processes we develop.

This gives us constant feedback from real underground conditions, allowing us to identify problems, test improvements and continually refine our technology. The result:

  • Faster, simpler workflows
  • Improved drilling accuracy
  • Technology proven through real underground use
  • Continuous product evolution grounded in real operations
